Homes of enemy aliens in the San Jose and Mountain View areas were being raided today by 25 FBI agents and local officers on warrants charging possession of contraband. Italians and Germans, as well as Japanese, were said to be named in the search and seizure warrants. The voice of Japan’s “Lord Haw Haw,” radio propagandist, was identified today as that of Hideo Okusako, American-born Japanese and graduate of the University of California, according to dispatches from Auburn. Earl Crabbe, dean of men at Placer Junior College, and Robert Kinsinger, Stanford student, said he identified himself at the end of a propaganda broadcast from Tokio. Okusako, whose parents reside at Newcastle, attended Placer Union High School and Sacramento Junior College, then was graduated from U.C. in 1937. He went to Japan later, but returned to the United States to register for the presidential election in 1940, Mr. Crabbe asserted. Farm Problems Up at Sacramento Meeting By United Press SACRAMENTO, March 26.—Farm labor problems and the effect upon California agriculture of evacuation of enemy aliens will be discussed here tomorrow by the Sacramento Valley Council of the California Chamber of Commerce. Other major subjects to be considered are protection of forests and watersheds, emergency highway development, reorganization of the highway patrol, and stimulation of summer vacation travel.
