Description: St. Dominic's Church, NW corner Bush and Steiner Streets. This brick church was constructed in 1886 and destroyed by fire in 1906.

Description: St. Mary's Cathedral, O'Farrell and Van Ness Ave is surrounded by refugees patiently waiting for relief supplies. St. Mary's was later consumed by fire on September 7, 1962.

Description: Palace Hotel is to the left flying the stars and stripes from its roof. The high rise building at the corner of 3rd and Market Streets is the Spreckels building. Smoke is in evidence as the fire attacks the Spreckels Rotisserie on the 15th floor via the elevator shaft.
